Revealed Plagiarism: You thought we wouldn't notice...

You thought we wouldn't notice dot com - but we did

„Everything has been done before“ is an often quoted post-modern cliché, especially among pessimistic minds.
Some designer, art directors and other people in the creative industry take this saying far too serious, and go further than just using other’s work as referential material – for the black sheep of the internet age, plagiarism can be considered as an easy practise to meet deadlines.

But fortunately there is a collaborative blog that documents those cases:

Obama's "historic" Berlin speech

Barack Obama's

“But the task is never easy. True partnership and true progress requires constant work and sustained sacrifice. They require sharing the burdens of development and diplomacy; of progress and peace. They require allies who will listen to each other, learn from each other and, most of all, trust each other.”

Barack Obama, A World that stands as One

Mercedes Bunz is right, instead of a historic phrase à la “ich bin ein Berliner” it sounds more like what you expect from “Relationships for Dummies“.

Quote: Baudrillard - The Spirit of Terrorism

“We have to face facts, and accept that a new terrorism has come into being, a new form of action which plays the game, solely with the aim of disrupting it. Not only do these people not play fair, since they put their own deaths into play – to which there is no possible response (‘they are cowards’) – but they have taken over all the weapons of the dominant power. Money and stock-market speculation, computer technology and aeronautics, spectacle and the media networks – they have assimilated everything of modernity and globalism, without changing their goal, which is to destroy that power.”

Jean Baudrillard (2002): The Spirit of Terrorism and Other Essays, p. 19

Netlabel-Birthday: 12rec's 50th release

So much achieved - so much left to do: 12rec's 50th release

It is time to celebrate a “discoversary”: the netlabel 12rec has released a versatile compilation. For those of you who do not know the label yet it is a good opportunity to get an insight into the diverse range of artists on 12rec.

With the claim “So Much Achieved. So Much Left To Do.” Sven Swift presents us almost 70 minutes of excellent experimental music.

The solemn-melancholic photos for the artwork were taken by Stéphane Obadia aka Rob Steady who belongs to my favorite 12rec-artists.

So check the compilation on 12rec or download it (256kbit mp3 – 150mb) directly, you can also buy the physical cd.

In: J. F. Lyotard: Was ist postmodern?
